First night in Ohope, North Island, NZ
As always, it is good to arrive in New Zealand to spend time with Matt and Teresa and our grandchildren. This is our fourth season here: we have enjoyed summer, spring, winter, and now fall. We are used to the long, overnight flight from either San Francisco or Los Angeles. San Francisco is by far the best airport--clean, spacious, elegance understated. Matt and Teresa's house overlooks the beach on the Bay of Plenty. The weather is warm, a nice change from the early spring snow and cold rain we left in La Grande.
